Rotaract Semanggi

ROTARACT is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young adults ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. It makes Rotaract “partners in service” and key members of the Rotary family.

Rotaract (Rotary in Action) Semanggi Jakarta is a community-based youth organization sponsored by Rotary Club Jakarta RID 3400 Indonesia, officially chartered on 25 May 1986. The Founders are: PDRR Helmi Haludin, Tubagus Irianto, Agoes Silaban, Indah Ananda Putri, Inayati, Doni Umardanus, Diah Upala, Doni Adriana, Edwin, Didit Soedarto, Yoyon Syamsir, Inov Syamsir, Widjaya and Sherly.

The members come from various backgrounds, such as Corporate Banking, Public Relation, HRD Training, Finance and Legal Officer, Diplomat, Advertising Agency, Marketing Research, IT Consultant, TV Producer, as well as civil servants, technicians, Organizers, Teachers, Entertainer, Undergraduate/Post Graduate students and many more.

“Service above Self” The Rotary Club Motto is our guiding principle. This Rotary Year 2012-2013 Tag-line of Rotaract Club Semanggi Jakarta is ‘Get Aspire, Keep Inspire, Before You Expire!’, in association with Rotaract District 3400 Indonesia Tag-line of ‘Unity thourgh Leadserhip and Professional Service”.

Rotaract merupakan suatu organisasi sosial yang juga dapat menjadi wadah bagi para pemuda dan juga anggotanya untuk dapat mengembangkan hal hal baru, tantangan baru, menjadi pribadi lebih baik,berpikir optimis, serta "Keluarga baru". Akses kebutuhan akan informasi-pun lebih cepat di dapat dengan dukungan berbagai macam anggota dengan beragam profesi, dimana jaringan networking yg kuat dapat di-realisasikan ke berbagai kegiatan positif melalui support teamwork masing masing individu menjadi sebuah kegiatan yang berguna bagi orang sekitar

Rotary Club Jakarta

The first Rotary Club in Indonesia, RC Yogyakarta, was chartered in 1927, soon followed by RC Surabaya (1928) and James W. Davidson brought in Rotary Club to Batavia, when he started working in 1930, our Club RC Jakarta was chartered in 1930.

When Japan occupied Indonesia in 1942, Rotary and it's 26 Clubs were banned.

In 1946 RC Bandung was the first to be the (re-)established. Sixteen (16) more Clubs followed, amongst which was RC Jakarta (1947). During the Old Order Rotary was banned again.

With the birth of the New Order, Rotary came back to service in Indonesia in 1970. The first re-chartered Club was RC Jakarta, followed by RC Surabaya and RC Malang in 1971.
